Louise Rogers IFBB PRO Figure

How and when did you start training?

I’ve been training for as long as I can remember… Whilst in school I used to compete in athletics, most memorably sprinting. From here I went on to be an avid cardio queen! I used to spend hours doing cardio in the gym.. Until 2003 when I trained as a Personal Trainer. After this I began to concentrate on weight training! So, I suppose in all I’ve been training with weights for about 8 years.

In regards to weight training, can you give us an overview of a typical week?

This changes very regularly depending on what stage I’m at in my training... at the moment I’ve just altered my training and I’ve started to increase my cardio sessions whilst increasing the intensity of my weight training.
In terms of weights I am prioritizing my legs, particularly my quads to ensure they remain full and shapely. I split my quad and hamstring workout, and sometimes have additional glute training sessions. I have brought a little more width to my back as I lost a lot of muscle early in 2010…. So I have a single session for my back. I then have a short session focusing on my arms and shoulders.

How much and what types of cardio do you do?

I tend to prefer power walking and cross training… I rarely participate in classes although occasionally I will try one!
At the moment I’m doing around 40 minutes of cardio a day… I have just increased it.

What are the contents of your fridge?

Well… Eggs, cartons of egg whites, salad, tomatoes, skimmed milk, beetroot, chicken, turkey, some sort of fish… haddock, salmon, tilapia.. bread (yes bread!), rice (normally cooked up and stored), spinach.
I suppose that’s about it! I normally have low fat yogurt in my fridge during the off season, yum!

What is your favourite healthy food?

Egg whites and spinach... I enjoy chicken too.

Favorite cheat food?

Curry!! Love it ☺

Who are your favourite figure competitors,
athletes or fitness models?

I am a fan of many athletes! Some of my favorites include: Larissa Reis, Oksana Grishina, Gina Allioti, Nina Moe, Rachael Grice, Malika Zitouni, Adela Garcia, Amanda Latona, Monica Brant.. I could go on ☺

What is your best body part?

Most people would say my shoulders!
Although… I prefer my back…

…and your best body part in a man?

Back! Although I’m not keen on huge upper bodies and really small legs… I like symmetry!

What is the number one philosophy you live by?

I live by a few philosophies… some of which include:

  • “It is better to pursue Peace than Justice”
  • “You have to risk going too far to discover just how far you can really go.”Originally from T.S. Elliot
  • I would rather take a risk and give something a go, than not give it a go at all…
  • “Illigitimi Non Carborundum” – Don’t let people get you down! It’s your life…… so live it!

What 3 tips would you give to any woman wanting to get a feminine, CutAndJacked physique like yours?

  1. Be consistent (worst mistake I see is women following a diet and training program for a few weeks, then having a few weeks off here and there, and wondering why their body doesn’t change!)
  2. Set a goal (I find it easier to progress when I have an end goal otherwise I end up training with little focus)
  3. Learn good technique… perform exercises correctly to achieve the best results.
