How and when did you start training?

I was very athletic as a kid and when I eventually made my way into the weight room I immediately became addicted.

What mistakes did you make as a newbie?

I've learned that nutrient timing is key to recovery and growth. I wish I had have known that when I started.

We know consistency is key, what tips would you give to anyone struggling to stay consistent?

Goal setting is so important to stay on track. That's why it's a great idea to set a goal date, whether it's for a physique competition or not.

Do you listen to music whilst training?

No, I don't.

What do you think about when you have to dig deep and push out that last rep?

The guilt that I'll feel if I don't place well at my show.
I'll think back to the last rep I didn't do.

How far ahead do you plan and prepare ahead your nutrition and training if at all?

My training and nutrition is constantly changing with my body. This is a lifestyle for me and I don't take breaks. I'm consistently looking to improve and grow.

What are you most proud of?

My personal training studio and business, FitNOW Personal Training Studios.

Do you bulk and cut or stay lean year round?

I stay in shape year round.

What types of cardio do you do?

I've found that switching up cardio every now and then keeps the body in check. I'll do HIIT sprints for a couple weeks, then I'll switch to LISS for a few weeks.

What is your training routine like?

I train 7 days a week. I don't do cardio when I'm not getting ready for a show. Currently, I'm getting ready to compete at the 2014 Arnold Classic in Amateur Men's Physique, so I'm doing 4-5 cardio sessions per week.

  • Monday - Heavy Legs
  • Tuesday - Heavy Chest & Shoulders
  • Wednesday - Heavy Back
  • Thursday - Light Legs
  • Friday - Light Chest & Shoulders
  • Saturday - Arms
  • Sunday - Light Back

Who are your favourite athletes, bodybuilders
or fitness models?

Of course Arnold is a favourite of mine. Michael Jordan, too. My dad, my brother and I wouldn't miss a Bull's game.

What supplements do you use if any?

I like to drink a good carb drink during my training. I take a multivitamin, omega 3's and joint pill.
