NO Equipment NO Excuse

In my years of training and coaching clients I have heard it ALL when it comes to excuses about working out and how and why someone fell off the wagon. The one repetitive excuse that is common in many of these cases is the lack of time...Everyone knows that exercising is healthy but because of their busy schedule they cannot fit it in.

I used to struggle with this; speaking to clients and trying to explain to them that all you needed was 30-60 minutes at the gym 4-5 times a week, to get the results you are looking for. How can this be so difficult? Aren’t your fitness goals important to you? Many would say yes, but then list many reason they were not able to get out and to the gym.

I found that for many of these people, their busy schedules, family time, traveling and or distance they lived from a gym were some of the key reasons they didn’t work out. Getting back and forth from the gym spent extra time, changing at the gym was a hassle and during the beginning half of the year when many are most motivated to get back in shape the gyms are swamped. I too dealt with these issues but believed there was no other way than to workout at the gym…As time passed and my career has now involved a lot more traveling I found myself improvising my workouts utilizing new exercises as a result of having limited equipment.

I decided that it was time to develop an effective way to workout at home. I know what you’re thinking “there is no way to get an effective complete workout at home” for years I believed the same thing…Ingrained in my head, was that working out hard required going to gyms where you can utilize heavy free weight and the many machines they have.

Over the next several articles I will go into detail on the workouts, utilizing very limited amount of equipment that doesn’t require much space at all…Many if not all of these workouts can be done in a single room, small space in the backyard, garage or even those tiny hotel fitness rooms when you are traveling. 

The best part about every workout and style is that each can be tailored to your own fitness level. Adding resistance, increasing pace and or lowering rest periods helps intensify the workouts. For anyone that thinks that this is only for beginner and or intermediate trainers they will be sorely mistaken...Father-time is one thing that you can never escape. Including a timer in your workouts will give you tangible goals to strive towards beating at each and every workout. Now let’s get down to business and explain these workouts.
