Antonio Wright Talks through

His Amazing Transformation

What made you decide to transform your physique?

I got tired with the way I was looking. So, I decided to do something about it. I had always been large when I was a child. People would say that I was “big boned” etc. Now, when I look back, I realize I was fat. Nothing magical was involved; I didn’t have a super swole grandfather who gave me his weight set, when I was 3 months old. Nothing like that.

What were the first steps you made towards your goal?

I had to get into a gym ASAP! Now, I must admit. Two years prior to being tired of the way I was looking, I was able to drop a large amount of weight. However, it came right back. I do believe during this period, I did gain some muscle mass though.

How many days a week do you train
and what is your routine?

Day 1:
Chest, Rear Delts and Abs

Day 2:
Quads and Calves (4 quads, 3 Biceps)

Day 3:
Cardio AM and Abs

Day 4:
Back and Biceps

Day 5:
Hamstrings, Shoulders and Triceps

Day 6:
Cardio AM and Abs

Day 7:
However, now that I am leaning out, I am doing cardio on days 2 and 5 as well.

What does your diet/nutrition consist of at present?

Currently I am following a hybrid of carb cycling and keto. This diet was designed by Dave Bohr over at

What is your favourite cheat meal?

What’s my "favourite" (English? Lol!) My favorite cheat meal is cookies! I love them all. Sadly, I don’t eat them anymore. Maybe for Thanksgiving though...

How do you manage to stay motivated?

The results keep me going.

What are your future goals?

You mean besides getting to your level of leanness? I am personal trainer and I want to expand that area of my life. I also want to pursue a fitness-modeling gig.

Who are your favourite
bodybuilders/ athletes?

Greg Plitt, Rob Riches, Rolsey (Hah!) You all have physiques I admire and strive to reach.

What are your top 3 tips for anyone wanting to transform their physique?

  1. They have to want to do it. Extrinsic motivators can only last so long. When that girl told me I was fat that got me into the gym. However, that didn’t keep me there.
  2. Supplements are just that, supplements. You should focus on your diet first. I was reading about a certain pre-workout product being a scam. It’s sold for $60 and you can make it for $35 for a year supply. These companies make their money off the ignorance of the general public. Read, read and read!
  3. Cardio must be done to drop weight. Forget what you heard.
